台洞村是开平市沙塘镇东北部的行政村，距镇政府3公里，分15个村民小组，1018户，共3587人，耕地3200亩。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村被苍江环绕，但地势较高，像一块台地，不易被水淹，因此得名台洞。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清代在开平县平康都的范围内，民国及新中国成立初期归第一区台洞乡，1952年改属第十区台洞乡，1955年归长沙塘区。1961年隶苍城公社，1963年称台洞大队，属沙塘公社。[1]
1984年设台洞乡；1992年起隶属沙塘镇，名台洞管理区。[1]
经济[edit]
2009年集体收入7.3万元，来源是茶楼、鱼塘的租金和山地收入，农民人均年收入5853元；48%的劳动力外出务工。[1]
荣誉[edit]
村里推行红色积分制度，称以法治先行的理念推进村务；先后获「江门市基层党建示范村」「江门市先进基层党组织」称号。2024年1月，列入2023年度广东省民主法治示范村（社区）。[1]
