历史沿革[edit]
村子建在岭上，故名上岭，博雅地名网记其建村时间为北宋靖康二年。[1]
民国时期，上岭属增城县的雅瑶乡。1951年土改后仍在雅瑶乡内；1956年自成上岭高级社，1958年是仙村公社的上岭大队；1983年成为上岭乡，1987年设村民委员会，属仙村镇。沙埔在1989年独立成镇，上岭随之划入；2004年沙埔镇并进新塘镇，上岭从此归新塘镇。[1]
地理与荣誉[edit]
村北靠湖中村，东邻长巷村，西、南接巷口村，距增城中心约28公里，距新塘镇中心城区约8公里。[2]2026年1月，上岭村获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
