新联村是荔城街道的行政村，约350户、1453人，设8个村民小组，耕地约2400亩，林地5612亩。[1]

村子由原来的三厂、河背、大笪等自然村联合新建而成，因此叫新联。[1]

经济[edit]

村内已通水泥路和自来水，适合种玉米、水稻、冬瓜，村民收入以务工和种植为主。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

新联初级农业合作社组建于1955年，两年后升为高级社；1958年人民公社化，设新联大队。1983年恢复为乡，1987年1月撤区建镇，乡改为村。[1]

荣誉[edit]

新联村名列2018年度广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位（2019年9月公布）；该村是广东省爱卫会2021年12月评定的卫生村之一。[1]
