村内有水田约1200亩，村民收入主要靠农业和外出打工；村里有一所小学，在校学生两百多人，另有一个卫生站。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村子明末清初建成。土改时属一区棠夏乡；1957年分办木潭、社市两个高级社，次年公社化又合并为木潭大队。1983年恢复为乡，1987年1月撤区建镇，乡改为村。[1]
