金星村位于荔城街道的正中心，面积约3平方千米，约500户、1850人，设9个合作社，主要姓氏是朱姓和钟姓，建村已近两百年。[1]
村名来自新中国成立后的农业合作社。1950年1月，合作社用苏联金星农庄的名字命名，后来成了片村的名称。[1] 村子靠近增城图书馆、增城广场和荔枝文化公园。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
土改时属一区清燕乡。1957年办高级社，金竹新村、清水塘、金竹岗、鸡母冚村、蛇头、林田湴和张山冚7个自然村合组金星农业合作社；1962年建公社后称金星大队。1983年11月恢复为乡，1987年1月撤区建镇，乡改为村。[1]
荣誉[edit]
该村是广东省爱卫会2021年12月评定的卫生村之一。[1]
