村名取自村委会驻地竹坑村。竹坑大队于1958年设立；1983年12月起同份田一道并入小水乡；1987年1月重新分开，更名为竹坑村民委员会。[1]

经济[edit]

村里引进了镇上规模较大的花场，以花卉产业为主，辅以三华李、蔬菜和水稻。距从化市区约60公里，离吕田镇约4公里。[1]

荣誉[edit]

  • 2019年9月，列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单。[1]
  • 2019年10月，入选「2019年广东省卫生村」名录。[1]
