竹坑村是汕尾市陆丰市河东镇北部的山区村委会，四面环山，下辖楼下、排里、坑尾3个自然村，村民以何姓居多；2001年由甘葫村委会分设而来。^[1]^[2]

历史沿革[edit]

博雅地名网说，明嘉靖年间先祖来此开荒造田、自修水利，清代渐兴。解放后属大安公社，1973年划归炎龙公社，1997年由河东镇甘葫村委会管辖；2001年经市政府批准，甘葫村委会分为甘坑、竹坑两个村委会，沿用至今。^[2]

村距镇上的国道11公里，距市区13公里，村村通水泥路。常住人口1650人，外出960人，占58%，主要去广州、深圳经商或务工。^[1]

耕地3860亩，其中水田860亩，实际耕种660亩；山地5700亩，林木覆盖九成，是县级生态村。种有菠萝约200亩、荔枝约80亩和茶叶约60亩。^[1]镇政府的介绍也把竹坑菠萝列为本镇特色农产品。^[3]

2020年以来新建党群服务中心、卫生站，并修缮文化设施；村级活动场所2020年建成，建筑面积370平方米。^[1]

2019年9月，列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2023年5月，获2022年广东省卫生村称号。^[2]
