塘基村属广州市从化区吕田镇，是该镇辖下的行政村。全村面积约8.4平方千米，在吕田镇北部，国道G105旁；下设3个村民小组，博雅地名网记载总人口365人（年份未注明）。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
大队部当年设在塘基背村，取名塘基大队，村名由此而来。塘基大队于1958年设立；1983年12月起同三村一道并入三村乡；1987年1月重新分开，更名为塘基村民委员会，名称沿用到现在。[1]
经济[edit]
村子属革命老区，设想以红色旅游为主、农业种养为辅，现有农业以水稻、蔬菜为主。距从化市区约64公里，离吕田镇约9公里。[1]
著名人物[edit]
博雅地名网列出的人物中，巢德麟（1909—1950）与巢海周（1914—1995）均出自塘基背村：前者1939年7月与同村人发起成立群众组织益世堂；后者1940年10月入党，抗日战争时期任吕田中心小学校长、吕田乡乡长。[2]
