东坡村是东岸镇下辖的行政村，位于大应山的东面，故称东坡。[1]
东坡原隶属岑山大队，高车与东坡一度各自成队，1963年重新合在一起，称东坡大队。乡、农村管理区、村民委员会的名称依次出现于1983年、1986年和1999年。[1]
2019年10月入选「2019年广东省卫生村」名录；2019年9月被列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」；2026年1月获评「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」。[1]
