竹坑村是广州市增城区小楼镇西部的行政村，西接中新镇，是增城的革命老区之一，村旁有竹坑水库[1]。
地名与历史沿革[edit]
因一条山坑里种满竹子，称竹坑[1]。清康熙年间，张氏族人的始祖从梅县松源迁到这里居住[1]。1952年土改时划为竹坑小乡，1956年冬由乐丰社、裕丰社组成高级社，1958年组建竹坑大队，1983年改为竹坑乡，1987年1月撤乡改村[1]。
经济与荣誉[edit]
据博雅地名网所载，村内人口1800人（常住1200人，外出600人），分属15个合作社；总面积12.12平方千米，耕地900亩、林地16705亩，村民以农业为主。近年加强了竹坑水库周边的生态保护，并修建水库至青迳的道路和机耕桥[1]。2019年9月，上榜2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位；2025年6月，入选「2024年度广州市级美丽乡村」[1]。
