横石村是广东省肇庆市高要区活道镇辖下的行政村，在镇政府北面，距镇政府驻地约6公里[1]。
地理与人口[edit]
据博雅地名网所载村情，全村面积约12.3平方千米，耕地2657亩、山地14838亩，设3个村民小组，总人口2602人。[1]
经济[edit]
地势开阔平坦，种植优质水稻和速生桉，鱼塘养四大家鱼，塘基养瘦肉型猪；村民世代有编竹篮等竹器的手艺。村内有香港道教界兴建的抱绿山庄，每年有各地道教人士前来举办讲座、交流。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
建国前该地隶高要县二区，1952年划入六区。1956年归莲塘区江南乡。此后成为新桥公社下的横石大队（1958年），翌年转入活道公社；至1983年政社分设，改作横石乡，1987年乡改村民委员会，1989年又叫管理区，到1998年管理区撤销，再次成立村民委员会。[2]
