塘边社区位于惠来县惠城镇城区东侧中心地带，地处葵和大道与站南路、南环一路的交界处，东面与华湖镇接壤。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年土地改革后称塘边村。1958年至1983年间并入东山大队，1983年至1987年设东山乡政府。1987年，塘边在东山管理区内独立成村；1999年起为村委会，2002年转为社区，名称塘边社区沿用至今。[1]

地理与社会[edit]

社区北接祚通社区和东安社区，西接华群社区，南面沿南环一路。社区内有商业铺面、一栋企业楼和一所学校，居民以商业和务工为主。[1]
