新村村位于白塔镇西北部，以农业产业为发展方向，也是镇里党建网格化的先行示范村。[1][4]

村里近年以人居环境整治、耕地流转和村集体经济为工作重点，2023年11月入选广东省「百千万工程」首批典型县镇村。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年改为新村大队，1983年改属白塔区，1986年成立新村村委会，沿用至今。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，村内以水田为主，另有山坡地，未注明统计年份。[1][2]

经济[edit]

1994年，村里发展三高农业，种下古山二号龙眼300多亩，每年可创收100多万元。[1][2]

2023年3月，村内已集中连片流转约325亩耕地的经营权。同年6月，揭东区在白塔镇启动撂荒耕地土壤改良示范项目，村东部的撂荒地被改良用于种稻，采用“政府+保险+科技”模式。[3][4]

村里还推进乡道775线白塔新村至塔东路段的改造提升和农村生活污水治理工程。[3]

文化[edit]

2019年9月，新村村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1][2]

自2017年起，村里把“门前三包”责任制写入村规民约，推行党员包户与网格管理。2024年，全村打造“四小园”41个。[5]
