新村社区位于东莞市万江街道境内，东侧是五环路，南面连着泰新路，西边与道滘镇相接，北面以汾溪河为界。社区辖十三个居民小组。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

博雅地名网称，村子在明朝末年的1644年开始立村。新中国成立后此地转入和治乡；1952年组建新村乡，归道滘区管辖。1957年并入新村大乡，1958年改隶道滘人民公社，1963年划归万江区的新村人民公社。[1]

1987年变为新村管理区，1999年成为村委会，2005年定名社区居委会。[1]

人口[edit]

博雅地名网记载，社区登记在册的人口约七千八百余人，常住家庭约两千四百户，另有外来人口三千上下；数字未注统计年份。党员共211人。[1]

名人旧居[edit]

赖成基于1907年在万江新村出生，1926年入党，并担任过莞城铜铁锡工会的委员长。他的旧居位于社区的仁凤坊二巷。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2026年1月，社区被评为广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
