东坑村位于秤架瑶族乡西北部，距乡政府驻地约26.5公里，村委会辖9个村民小组，共246户1287人。[1]

地理[edit]

本村东接炉田村，南接漏水坪村，西边是连州市朝天镇的大东山自然保护区，北边连着湖南莽山的天塘一带。全村面积约52.83平方千米，地处石灰岩地区，平均海拔620米。[1]

村内有锡矿、铅锌矿等矿产，林业面积约4798.4公顷，活立木蓄积量约17万立方米。已开发小水电站5座，装机容量7200千瓦。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1940年设保，此后曾为乡政府、生产大队，1999年3月定为村委会。[2]

人口与产业[edit]

村民以种水稻为主，兼种玉米、花生、蕃薯和芋头。耕地约1097亩，水田414亩，旱地683亩。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，东坑村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
