向阳社区位于东海街道南部，东接新光社区，南邻红光村，西以东河为界，北靠南堤社区，面积约2.1平方千米，户籍人口16406人[1]。社区分梨园、彩珠、金钗、保昌4个居民小组[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立后设珠保居民区，1965年“四清”期间分作向阳、东红两个居民区，1969年两区再度合并，称向阳居民区；1987年4月起称向阳居委会，1994年为居民管理区，1999年又恢复居委会名称，2002年起为向阳社区居民委员会[2]。博雅地名网的简介另称社区成立于2005年5月，与上述沿革不一致[2]。

设施与荣誉[edit]

辖区内有陆丰市庄歧洲红色革命基地（设在居委会内）、向阳小学和红光小学，以及长春街市场、长池市场两个综合菜肉市场[1]。2020年12月，社区获广东省爱国卫生运动委员会授予「广东省卫生村」（2020年度）称号[2]。
