据族谱，约350年前，集和公及妻莫氏在杨村生七子，莫氏带四子迁到村头一带，兄弟分四处落户。长子子正住在村头，村因此得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1977年设村头管理区，2000年后撤区设村，成立村头村委会。[1]

文化[edit]

2019年9月，村头村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2026年1月，评为广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
