历史沿革[edit]
村头村的始祖悦榕公从高明歌乐村迁来，至今近八百年。博雅地名网写作「南宋末年（公元1338年）」，纪年与朝代并不吻合。[1]
民国初期这里属百滘堡，新中国成立初属百滘乡，土改时百滘乡一分为二，成了百东、百西两乡。1958年10月称百西营，第二年改称百西大队；1961年8月曾分出村头、大地、张家、四约、五社、西岸六个大队，1963年2月再合并。[3]
1983年底成立百西乡，其后改称行政村、管理区，1999年5月设百西村民委员会。2011年「村改居」，改设居民委员会。[3]
人口民族[edit]
社区面积3.5平方公里，距镇中心约9公里，下辖13个居民小组；常住3958人（1250户），流动人口约3600人。[2]
经济[edit]
辖区内有裕牌纺织、金樵电器、珠联塑胶五金制品等50多家企业，另有5个市场。[2]
