塘尾街道是广东省湛江市吴川市下辖的街道，在吴川市区南部，东邻梅菉街道，西接吴阳镇和振文镇，北靠鉴江，南面临海[1]。2002年由塘尾镇改为街道，辖7个社区[1]。街道是吴川工业园A、B区所在地，以羽绒和渔网制品产业见称，清代机智人物麦为仪即出于辖区内的麦屋[2][3]。

历史沿革[edit]

这一带在1949年归吴川县第三区（吴阳）管辖，三年后转入第四区；此后先后成为银岭乡（1957年）、银岭公社（1961年），其间曾并入吴阳公社[2]。1975年，银岭公社旧地从吴阳公社分出，建塘尾公社，1983年改区，1987年撤区设镇[2]。1997年，塘尾村、新地村等15条村庄连同塘尾村委会辖区，加上大山江镇部分村庄，另组海滨街道[2]。2002年塘尾镇改称塘尾街道[1][2]。

地理环境[edit]

街道位于吴川市区西南，临南海，西傍鉴江，岸线方面，沿海3.8公里、沿江3.2公里；国道325线与省道373线交会成“人”字形，穿过全境[3]。气候为亚热带季风湿润气候[1]。面积一说22.19平方千米[1]，博雅地名网则记为33.37平方公里[2]。

经济[edit]

羽绒是主导产业：2005年起列为省级羽绒科技专业镇，2006年在省科技厅支持下筹建羽绒综合信息服务平台，2007年被省科学技术厅列为火炬计划羽绒特色产业基地[3]。据博雅地名网转载的介绍，2006年街道社会生产总值7.8亿元，工业总产值6.5亿元，辖区有企业542间，其中规模以上8个，产业以羽绒、渔网、安全网、饲料、木材为主，羽绒洗涤及制品年产值4.5亿元，各类网具年产值1.5亿元[3]。另据吴川市有关通报，2019年1至11月街道两税收入522万元，固定资产投资完成4159万元[1]。

名胜古迹[edit]

通驷垂虹在边坡社区的邱屋，原称垂虹桥，是吴阳往梅菉的通道，明代始建，清代重修，列入吴川古八景；今仅存残垣，2021年在附近建了两座牌坊[5]。麦屋的麦氏大宗祠始建于清乾隆二十六年，曾改作麦屋小学，1998年重建，祠内设麦国树、麦为仪等六个纪念展厅，为吴川市文物保护单位[4][9]。

著名人物[edit]

麦为仪（1695—1762），字凤来，绰号劏狗六爹，麦屋人，乾隆岁贡生，1984年经中国社会科学院文学研究所评定，列为全国机智人物；他的故事于2018年入选「广东省第七批省级非物质文化遗产代表性名录」[6]。麦国树（1699—1766），字柱臣，麦屋人，乾隆九年举人，后入翰林院，奉命为皇子授读，告老还乡时获赐“耆年宿学”匾[7]。曾秉忠（1816—1863），曾屋人，行伍出身，咸丰十年（1860年）任江南水师提督[8]。
