Sights麦氏大宗祠

麦屋社区在塘尾街道西偏南，居委会驻麦屋，故名；下设9个居民小组，1492户、7327人，鉴江自北境流过，国道325线经南部[1][2]。辖区出过清代翰林麦国树和民间机智人物麦为仪[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

1953年称李屋乡，1958年改麦屋大队，1980年为麦屋乡政府，1987年为村委会，1989年称管理区，2003年改居民委员会，沿用至今[1]。

经济[edit]

据博雅地名网，社区有耕地2723亩，位于鉴江冲积平原，种水稻、花生、番薯和蔬菜，被称为塘尾街道的粮仓；另有10余艘机动运输船跑河海航运，以及塑料、羽绒、榨油等企业30间[2]。曾屋村获评湛江市生态文明村，勇尾村获评吴川市文明村[2]。2019年9月，社区名列「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单[1]。

名胜古迹[edit]

麦氏大宗祠始建于清乾隆二十六年，数次重修，曾改作麦屋小学，1998年重建，设麦国树、麦为仪纪念厅等六个展馆，为吴川市文物保护单位[3][4]。

著名人物[edit]

麦屋大村是明代举人麦伦、清代翰林麦国树、举人麦实发和麦为仪的故里；曾屋村是清代江南水师提督曾秉忠的故里[2][5][6]。麦为仪（1695—1762）的故事于2018年列入广东省省级非物质文化遗产名录，村内设有纪念馆[5]。麦国树（1699—1766），乾隆九年举人，入翰林院，告老还乡时获赐“耆年宿学”匾，现存祠内[6]。
