地名由来[edit]
村西有山，村民以“西山”为名立村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1953年时作廉江县第四区的西山行政村，1958年时改作称西山大队，归横山公社。1970年村委会选址在朝拜岭脚下，1987年时改作为管理区，1999年起建村委会。[1]
经济[edit]
村中种植的农作物主要有水稻、番薯、花生、北运菜。养殖业有山地林带养鸡。[1]

下属自然村包括狮仔岭、望牛岭、校边、西山、合河仔等。[1]
