上西村在行政区划上属从化区鳌头镇，是该镇的一个行政村，村委会设在镇域西部。[1] 全村面积约6平方公里，村民小组共18个，村委会介绍的总人口为2548人（该介绍未注明年份）。村距从化城区约28公里，距鳌头镇中心镇区约13公里。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，1958年建立上西大队，到1983年12月改设为上西乡，到1987年1月改名上西村民委员会。[1]

村名取自驻地上西岭。[1]

荣誉与名单

  • 2024年11月，上西村被认定为「2024年广州市充分就业社区（村）」。[1]

村里的农业格局为：水田种水稻、花生，鱼塘里养四大家鱼、塘基上养瘦肉型猪。[1] 村集体经济方面，村集体增收靠引进的广州乔淦生态农业发展有限公司项目。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

从化区人民政府于2015年发布的文化遗产普查推荐名单（历史建筑与传统风貌建筑线索）中，列有本村的东闸门楼、门楼，共2处。名单所列只是普查线索，不等于已定级的文物。[2]
