白石村在赤坭镇的中北部，居民1126人（博雅地名网，未注明年份），耕地2800多亩、鱼塘1500多亩，属农田保护区，全村分9个经济社。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据传，水浮村东侧的土丘上有一块通体洁白的大石。明永乐十九年（1421年），一位姓高的武将在水浮村附近结庐安家，后来以这块白石为名，改称白石村。[1]

白石大队1958年由白石、水东㘵、鹤栖㘵三处合成，到1961年只剩水东㘵与白石合编。1987年设立白石村委会，先隶属赤坭区公所，当年3月起归赤坭镇人民政府管辖。[1]

经济[edit]

村以水稻种植为主，近年转向特色农业，扩大红薯等有基础的作物。[1]
