东坑村位于潭头镇东北部山区，村内有东坑、东坑头、东山三个自然村。村子北面、东面与范坑乡、上白石镇相邻，西、南两面与太逢村、坑坪村接壤[1]。

地名由来[edit]

村庄处在一条山坑溪边，与西坑村隔溪相对，故名东坑[1]。

名胜古迹[edit]

东坑佛塔位于村中的佛塔岗上，博雅地名网称其始建于宋代，为石构七层四角塔，总高2.23米[1]。

荣誉与沿革[edit]

2021年11月，村里获「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。2024年6月，东坑村列入「福建省第四批高级版绿盈乡村」名单[1]。

1950年隶属第九区太逢乡，1958年设大队，归上白石公社领导，1969年并入太逢大队，改由潭头公社管辖；1980年分出，恢复大队，取名东坑大队[1]。
