东坑村是祥华乡下辖的行政村，政府网站称其为「茶叶名村」。村子古称公卿，四周环山，中间为一片小平原。[1][4]

地名由来[edit]

村子古称公卿。四面环山，中间形成一片小平原，只有一个入口而无出路，故得名公卿。后人将「公」改为「东」，「卿」改为「坑」，于是成为东坑村。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

村子设立于明天顺三年（1459年）。据旧志，本族先人自泉州湖中迁居此地，至今已传二十五世。[1][4]

明清时期属金田还一里。1958年，东坑归长坑公社，设为东坑大队；1965年，它从长坑公社分出，名称未变；1984年起，改为祥华乡下的东坑村民委员会。[1][3]

产业与荣誉[edit]

政府网站把东坑村列为乡内的「茶叶名村」之一。[4]

2021年12月，村子被确定为「福建省第二批高级版绿盈乡村（乡镇）」。2024年10月，被确定为「泉州市2024年度市级一村一品专业村」，主导产业为山药。2025年3月，被认定为「福建省第一批省级乡村振兴示范村」。[1]
