中村位于粤赣两省交界处，是上坪镇的一个行政村。[1]

村内的新田径游击队活动点旧址，2011年由县委、县政府立碑保护。[2]

地名由来[edit]

村名与地理位置有关：村北是江西龙南的武当，南边是上坪街，两地相隔约15千米。旧时逢圩，村民轮流到两边赶集，路途远近相当，村正居其中间，故名中村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村庄早年称中河乡，之后改称中村村管理区；1999年撤区改村，撤销管理区，设立中村村民委员会。[1]

革命旧址[edit]

1945年11月，东纵三支队的一支游击小分队进驻新田径，以此为据点活动；1946年2月，游击队奇袭上坪街。新中国成立后，居民陆续迁出，旧址成为荒地。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2013年7月，村庄被农业部认定为「第三批全国一村一品示范村镇」（鹰嘴蜜桃）；2019年12月，入选「第一批国家森林乡村」；2024年3月，获「2023年广东省卫生村」称号；2026年3月，被认定为「广东省第三批百千万工程典型村镇」。[1]
