中村在东石圩东南约19公里，属平远县东石镇，辖8个村民小组，登记204户、797人，总面积9.1平方公里，耕地约448亩。[1]
地名由来[edit]
它正好处在上黄地（属东石镇）与下黄地（属热柘镇）之间，因此叫中村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1949年设中村乡，1978年以前属热柘公社，1978年划入茅坪公社，茅坪镇撤并后归东石镇；中间的1958年曾为大队，1983年改称小乡，1987年成立村民委员会，1989年改设管理区，1999年设村民委员会。[1]
经济[edit]
村民种水稻、椪柑、生姜和茶叶，椪柑连片200多亩，村内办有小水电站1处。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，中村名列「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」。[1]
