历史沿革[edit]
明崇祯年间（1628—1644）立村，称赤竹垭村。1950年起归石船乡；1958年公社化，并入后田大队；1983年起隶赤林乡；1986年起设中村村委会；1992年划入赤林管理区；1999年又恢复村委会。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
据博雅地名网所载，全村共有1383人（245户），山地2734亩，耕地36亩。[1]
村民以林姓为主，种植青梅、杨梅、茶叶、龙眼、油甘等，收入主要靠外出务工。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2023年5月，被评为2022年广东省卫生村。[1]
