地名由来[edit]
村在上坪镇东侧，东方是日出之处，故名东阳。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1951年下半年，全镇划区划乡，东阳是其中一个小乡。1979年，东阳自东南大队独立出来，设为东阳大队，当时的机构称革命委员会。1988年起成为东阳管理区，1999年撤管理区，立东阳村民委员会。[1]
文物[edit]
上坪水口桥于清光绪元年（1875年）开工，历时三年完工，由上坪谢氏兴建，为「第四批河源市文物保护单位」。2019年6月10日的洪涝灾害中，桥体局部被冲毁。连平水口塔位于桥附近约百米处，又名风水塔，是六角五层楼阁式砖塔，建于清代。[2][3][4]
荣誉[edit]
2023年5月，获授予「2022年广东省卫生村」称号；2026年3月，入选「广东省第三批百千万工程典型村镇」。[1]
