历史沿革[edit]
解放前，上村、中村、五里亭合称古田；中村居三者之中，故名中村。[1]
1949年设中村乡，隶属城北区；1956年撤区并乡，归城西乡。1958年改设中村大队，属卫星人民公社（后称梅城人民公社）；1960年城北人民公社从梅城人民公社分设，该村随之改属。1983年更称中村乡；1987年改为村民委员会，隶属城北乡；1989年称中村管理区；1998年定名为中村村民委员会，隶属城北镇。[1]
经济[edit]
村情资料载，全村有347户、1397人，总面积2.14平方公里，耕地734亩，种水稻和蔬菜，玉米是特色收入之一；所记上一年农村经济总收入1536万元（年份未注明）。2005年起，村里按党员的职业和专长把党员编入种植、养殖、经济发展、文明新风、计划生育等协会小组，称「党小组加协会」的设置办法。[1]
