直径村是横河镇的行政村，村名来自当地的山间小河与地形。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，村旁山间有一条笔直延伸的小河，两岸山坑狭窄，本地人称这类地形为「窄径」，村名也就叫作直径。[1]直径原先并不独立：民国时期它属第九区智勇乡一保，新中国成立后归九区黄竹凹乡，1958年是横河公社的黄竹凹大队。直到1987年才单独设直径管理区，1999年起改称直径村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，直径村入选2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]
