东角村是横河镇的行政村，处在横河的东面一角，因而得名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
东角在清代隶属善政巡检司，民国时期属第九区智勇乡，新中国成立初期设横河乡（第四区）。1958年10月并入横河公社；其后的名称依次是东角乡（1983年11月）、东角管理区（1986年1月），1999年3月起为东角村民委员会。[1]
经济与荣誉[edit]
沉香是东角村的特色产业，使它进入2021年9月公布的第二批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村。该村2021年12月获广东省卫生村称号，2019年9月还被列为民主法治示范村创建单位（2018年度）。[1]
