白马山村是横河镇的行政村，村名来自一个关于白马的传说。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
相传曾有人在村里最高的山峰上，看见一匹白马飞上山顶，消失在一处岩洞里，山因此叫白马山；后来有人在洞中建了庙，称白马寺，山下的村子也跟着得名。[1]清代，白马山归善政巡检司；民国时期属第九区智勇乡；新中国成立初期归第四区横河乡，1958年10月隶属横河公社。1960年10月，成立了隶属公社的白马山林场。其后依次称白马山乡（1983年）、白马山管理区（1986年），1999年起为白马山村民委员会。[1]
