横河村是横河镇下辖的行政村，位于镇的中心地带，属城乡结合的镇乡结合区。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村名与镇名同源：南宋末年约1210年，曾、刘、谭三姓从兴宁和江西等地迁来，住在屯仔、刘学、沙上一带，河水横流经过三村，故称横河。[1]行政村的名称自1999年起为横河村民委员会；此前的1986年是横河镇横河管理区，1983年是横河区横河乡，1958年是横河公社的横河大队。新中国成立初期它归第四区横河乡，民国时期属第九区四保，清代则隶属博罗县善政巡检司。[1]
经济与荣誉[edit]
2021年9月，横河村被广东省农业农村厅列入第二批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村，特色产业为中华鳖。2021年12月它获得广东省卫生村称号，2022年1月又被省乡村振兴局确定为乡村治理示范村的创建单位（2021年度）。[1]
