黄竹坳村是横河镇的行政村，村名说的是此地多山坳，又遍生黄竹。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，当地长着黄竹、单竹、苗竹，其中黄竹最多，山坳也多，得名黄竹坳。清乾隆年间林、曾、唐三姓迁来定居，后有外地人陆续迁入。[1]1999年起，村民委员会称黄竹坳村；1986年1月是横河镇黄竹坳管理区，1983年11月是黄竹坳乡（横河区），1958年10月是横河公社下的黄竹坳大队。再早，新中国成立后归九区黄竹凹，民国时期属第九区智勇乡。[1]
经济与荣誉[edit]
黄竹坳村以枇杷入选2022年广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村；2021年12月获广东省卫生村称号；2019年9月列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]
