石湖村是横河镇的行政村，村名与一处石崖下的小湖有关。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，建村在1380年，居民由石湖上南小组迁到现址。当时石湖咀小组后山有石崖，崖下有湖，民居沿湖而建，先叫石湖咀，后来简称石湖。[1]此地在1938年属第九区三保，新中国成立后归第四区横河乡。1955年10月它是横河公社的石湖大队，到1983年11月改称石湖乡（属横河区），1986年成为横河镇石湖管理区，1999年3月起为石湖村民委员会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，石湖村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]
