河背社区位于淡水城区北部，居民委员会成立于1988年，名称取自所辖的河背地段。[1]

名称与沿革[edit]

辖区原是河背一带，社区便以地段名为名。居民委员会于1988年3月28日成立，1990年迁到永兴路办公，2001年5月改称河背社区居民委员会。[1]

区域与人口[edit]

社区东邻淡水河，南与淡环村相接，西邻排坊社区，北面以深汕高速公路为界，总面积约0.85平方公里。据该页，辖区有3708户、9037人，其中暂住1120户。区内有桥背派出所、惠阳区卫生局、区疾控中心和多家医院。[1]
