历史沿革[edit]
该村1958年设大队，1983年设乡政府，1987年设村民委员会，1989年改设管理区，1998年恢复村民委员会，沿用至今[1]。
经济[edit]
全村223户、1231人，共有耕地508亩（含水田307亩），人均0.41亩；有贫困户108户476人、低保户29户58人。村民医疗保险参保率达到100%[1]。
村内水资源较丰富，但属石灰岩山区、林木少，村民主要外出务工；村集体经济薄弱，收入主要是在乐昌市扶贫电站的入股分红。村设黄金洞小学和卫生站。井子坳等村小组当时尚未通公路[1]。
据广东省林业局网站报道，秀水镇的油茶产业以大竹山村为中心，周边几个村的农户也加入了种植[2]。
