甘汁村是东岸镇下辖的行政村。过去这里种有各种柑树，起名柑汁村，后来写作甘汁。[1]

甘汁大队在1963年一分为五，即甘汁、方垌、大村、谢塘和长丰，其中长丰后来又并回甘汁。乡、农村管理区、村民委员会的名称依次出现于1983年、1986年和1999年。[1]

2021年12月获评「2021年广东省卫生村」；2019年9月被列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」。[1]
