竹朗村是东岸镇下辖的行政村，村名沿用原来的竹朗大队之名。[1]
它在公社时期先属才口管理区，后隶属石陂大队；大石湾大队于1963年自石陂分出，次年易名竹朗。其后依次改乡（1983年）、农村管理区（1986年），1999年起设村民委员会。[1]
2021年12月获评「2021年广东省卫生村」；2019年9月被列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」。[1]
