双利村是东岸镇下辖的行政村，原名双井，后取“成双成利”的寓意改称双利。[1]
双利当年属河朗管理区；连垌、双利、白花塘、双城曾合为一个大队，随后分为四队，1963年连垌、双利、白花塘三处再合，成双利大队。乡、农村管理区、村民委员会的名称依次出现于1983年、1986年和1999年。[1]
2019年9月被列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」。[1]
