旺坑村是东岸镇下辖的行政村。村子四面环山，呈带状，黄姓族人较多，原名黄坑，后改称旺坑。[1]
旺坑大队成立于1961年，1983年起称乡，1986年起为农村管理区，1999年起设村民委员会。2019年10月入选「2019年广东省卫生村」名录；2019年9月被列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」。[1]
