莲华镇在广东省汕头市澄海区的东北部，北依莲花山，南濒韩江北溪，东面是东里镇，西面与潮州市的铁铺镇相接，处在潮州、澄海、饶平三地的交会处。[1][3] 镇域面积19.91平方千米，2019年末户籍人口28956人，下辖19个行政村，镇政府设在隆南村。[1]
镇的前身是“十五乡”，1995年改称莲华镇。[1][4] 山地上盛产荔枝、杨梅等水果，镇内有莲花山温泉、盛安楼古寨等景点。[3][6][8]
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网转录的沿革，镇域在晋代属海阳县；从北宋起陆续有移民在此建村，累计十五个自然村。到清咸丰二年（1852年），这些村联合组成“会乡”，称作“十五乡”。[4]
1949年后这里划入澄海县，初属隆都区，1951年改属苏北区；1954年十五乡各村并为五个大乡（隆溪、碧东梅、隆北、上中、隆西），次年再并为上隆、下隆两乡。1957年成立十五乡人民政府，不久与东里、盐鸿两乡合为苏北乡，1958年改为苏北公社，1961年十五乡又自成公社。[4] 1983年1月改设十五乡区人民公所，1986年改为十五乡镇，1995年镇人民政府更名为莲华镇人民政府。[4]
关于下辖村数，百度百科和博雅地名网均记19个行政村；维基百科列出17个，其中有莲新村，而无三洲、林畔两村。[1][2][5]
地理环境[edit]
镇北的莲花山是潮州、澄海、饶平三地的交界山地，镇域拥有山地400公顷和滩涂水域230公顷。[3] 韩江支流北溪从镇南流过。省道335线横贯全境，另有隆碧路、隆樟公路与之相连，博雅地名网称之为“井”字形的交通网。[2][3] 百度百科把澄海莲花山景区记在盐鸿镇名下，而莲花山温泉、莲花古寺等则被博雅地名网记在莲华镇境内。[6][7]
经济[edit]
镇上以种果见长，荔枝、林檎、杨梅、青梅、橄榄都有出产，碧砂村的乌苏杨梅尤其出名。[3] 2011年，全镇农民人均纯收入为3363元，农业总产值19027万元；2019年有工业企业380个，其中规模以上企业2个。[1] 莲华镇还先后在2020年、2021年、2022年被列入淘宝镇名单。[5]
名胜古迹[edit]
莲花山南麓有莲花山温泉度假区，据介绍附近有始建于元代的莲花古寺，以及“五丛古榕”、“莲花天池”、“仙脚迹”等带传说的景点。[3][7] 新楼村的盛安楼是清乾隆八年（1743年）建成的古寨；[8] 东光村的堃庐是《潮声十五音》作者张世珍的故居，现辟为展示馆。[9] 溪西村的闳远楼、雅道村的四方古寨也是村中保存的老寨。[5]
文化[edit]
镇内各村多是明代前后从福建莆田、隆都等地迁来的宗族所建，不少村名带有来历：东浦原名“莲浦”，后浦原名“鹤浦”，上墩原名“象墩”，下寨由“霞寨”谐音而来。[10] 博雅地名网把澄海蜈蚣舞、澄海灯谜列为本地民俗，并列有东里猪脚饭、卤鹅、酸咸菜等特产。[5]
