历史沿革[edit]
南宋淳祐十年（1250年），郑氏宗族迁到莲花山南麓建村，因村前朝西、又有道路横贯而取名“西浦”；另一说是村落西南面原先濒海。[2][3]
人口与经济[edit]
2002年全村土地面积1.6305平方千米，耕地412亩，233户953人，有27个姓氏，以郑姓为主；村集体经济总收入594.898万元。[2] 村里种荔枝、龙眼等杂果235亩，产量297吨。[2]
文化[edit]
村里1976年设爱国主义教育基地，革命烈士陈列室陈列31位烈士的肖像和事迹，记述澄海革命斗争中的“西浦事件”。1998年5月，在汕头画院肖映川与版画家许川如的倡导下开设美术写生基地，场地包括老厝区和西浦山上下水库，已接待广州美术学院等院校师生6800多人次。[2]
