莲华社区是汕头市金平区鮀莲街道下辖的社区，位于街道西侧，与新辽、莲荣、莲风三个社区相邻，1997年由莲塘村分设，居委会在新华路25号。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1997年莲塘居委分为莲荣、莲华、莲风、莲光、莲美五个，取「荣华风光美」之意。2001年12月，莲塘、鮀南两街道合为鮀莲街道。[1]

地理环境[edit]

总面积1.82平方公里。原莲塘村有「三个一万亩」之说，即水田、海滩涂和山坡地各约一万亩，故有鱼米之乡的称法。[2]

人口民族[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，有566户、2533人，其中农业人口1807人。[2]

经济[edit]

集体的水田597亩，另有鱼池260亩，山地500亩，海滩涂177亩。居民以水稻种植和水产养殖为主，盛产咸水虾蟹和淡水鱼虾。居委近年引进了友诚五金厂、金时达彩印厂两家企业，在莲塘工业区范围内也有土地。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

宋代的辛安世夫妇墓在辖区内鸡笼山火山口坡地，2014年10月10日公布为汕头市文物保护单位。[1]周边还有北回归线标志塔等去处。[2]

文化[edit]

莲华社区是省爱国卫生运动委员会2017年10月评出的「第一批广东省卫生村」之一。[1]
