历史沿革[edit]
明崇祯元年（1628年），麦姓人家迁来定居，村起名“莲浦”，后改称“东浦”；另一说法把村名解释为村落处在莲花山南麓东面的低洼地。[2][3]
人口与经济[edit]
2002年全村土地面积1.0213平方千米，耕地767亩，331户1310人，村集体经济总收入559.4万元。村中有29个姓氏，以麦姓为最多，其次是陈、林两姓。[2] 20世纪80年代起利用山地种果树，2002年种荔枝、龙眼共85亩，产量65吨；村里有小型工业企业20家，产品以五金制品、腌制品和贝灰为主。[2]
