南阳村在汕头市潮南区陇田镇东部沿海，旧称茆洋村，因临海、茆草丛生而得名；清代寨门匾书「南阳高照」，遂称南阳。历史上以浅海捕鱼为业，是半渔半农的老苏区村庄。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

南阳创村于明代，称茆洋，清代改南阳。明、清至民国属潮阳县大坭都，1921年属田心乡；1958年称南阳大队，1983年改乡，1986年设村委会，1999年恢复村委会。[1]

概况[edit]

532户、2639人，耕地263亩（水田204亩、旱地59亩），沙滩共1325亩，里面1174亩是生态林。因交通不便，渔民浅海作业方式陈旧，大部分渔民转而外出务工，全村主要劳力约九成在外务工或做小生意。[1][2]
