金村村民委员会设在开平市月山镇西南部，离镇中心约6公里，是镇内的革命老区村之一，辖12条自然村、17个村民小组。^[1]^[2]

历史沿革[edit]

清代隶开平县古博都，民国年间划归第十区金村乡。新中国成立后属月山区金村乡，1963年起为月山公社金村大队，1984年改乡人民政府，1989年改管理区。1993年开平撤县设市，属月山镇；1999年起称金村村民委员会。^[1]

村名“金村”的来历，当地的说法是：民国时期村里出过一位中央委员余荣，华侨也多，故以“金”字定名。^[1]

村域面积5.5平方公里，介绍所载总人口3088人、765户，其中党员53人。集体收入主要来自金村市场的商铺出租、厂房和山林；农业以养殖和种植为主，水产和生猪养殖也在推广，不少村民外出务工、经商或从事建筑业。^[2]

2019年9月，金村村进入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。^[1]
