大布洋村在汕头市潮南区陇田镇，位于和惠公路与陈沙公路（省道236线）交界处。创村于明崇祯年间（1628—1644年），因在大南山脚下开荒成片田洋而得名；村内有清光绪年间创建的念佛禅院。^[1]^[2]

历史沿革[edit]

明、清至民国初年属潮阳县峡山都，1921年属第七区；1950年属永新乡，1958年称大布洋大队，1983年改乡，1986年设村委会，1992年归大胡管理区，1999年恢复村委会。^[1]

占地800多亩，耕地400多亩，442户、2240人，有五个姓氏，是姓氏多而人口少的村。博雅地名网称村里没有一家企业，年轻人多外出务工。^[1]^[2]

念佛禅院位于村东南，因靠近一座明代石亭墓，俗称亭仔庵。清光绪元年（1875年）释开勤创建，2000年起重建，2003年冬竣工，占地6860平方米，院名匾额由赵朴初题写（他曾任中国佛教协会会长）；院内有刻「甘井泉香」的古井和1994年所建的普同塔。^[3]
