南埔村在汕头市潮南区陇田镇东部，东临大海，南接田四村，北与井都镇双山村相邻。创村时这里是靠海的荒沙埔地，因而叫南埔；最早建于元至元二十一年（1284年）。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明、清至民国初年属潮阳县大坭都，1921年属田心乡；新中国成立后先归田心乡；1958年起叫南埔大队，1983年称乡，1986年设村委会，1992年称管理区，1999年恢复为村委会。[1]
概况[edit]
637户、3304人，总面积1478亩，含耕地437亩、园地500亩、林地268亩。无山无林，村里没有集体企业，建有一所小学（教师20人、学生512人）。2009年前村里没有自来水，集体收入靠出租田地和种植潮汕蕉柑。2017年10月获首批广东省卫生村称号。[1][2]
